Sad news

WALMART will be closing its Reidsville KMART location on December 7th.

At one point, KMART was doing more than $15,000,000 a year.  When WALMART opened, sales dropped to less than $5,000,000 a year.

If you thought the parking lot was in bad shape, wait until after December 7th.

You're gonna miss those Blue Light Specials.

Confused?

How does the Reidsville Review post an August 3rd article about how the county is looking around for a new economic development director while at the same time on the same page running a September 19th article about the new economic development director the county has hired?

What's your favorite season?

The Reidsville Review's current poll is What's Your Favorite Season?

22 votes have been cast.  (Note when you see a poll with more than a few votes, it's because the Greensboro News is using the same poll.)

Fall is currently winning with 10 votes.  Spring is in second place with seven votes.  I don't like any of them has one vote.

Review misplaces Congressional district story

You might be wondering who in the hell Adams and Coakley are.  They are candidates for the 12th Congressional District.  The 12th runs from Charlotte to Winston-Salem.  The 12th has nothing to do with Rockingham County, but no one has told the Reidsville Review.  The Review is running a story about a debate between 12th candidates.

Congratulations Review.  Job well done.

Review prepares to re-elect Sheriff Page

The Reidsville Review has begun its campaign to re-elect Sheriff Sam Page.  Expect a lot more Sheriff Page news stories during the next month.

There's really no need for the Review to work so hard.  You probably can't even name the guy who is running on the Democrat ticket.

A Sucker for TV commercials

I'm a sucker for TV commercials.  The current Red Lobster commercial advertising Endless Shrimp was enough to lure me in.

I won't tell you which Red Lobster we went to because it was nice going out to eat and not seeing a single soul who we knew.  There are four Red Lobsters in the area.  I might decide I want to go back since we joined the Fresh Catch Club which entitles us to a free appetizer or dessert.  You will have to figure out which Red Lobster you want to go to if you decide the Endless Shrimp special sounds good.  I want to be sure you don't see me or at least reduce the odds of an encounter.

I ordered the Endless Shrimp special which is pictured above.  On the plate you see Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Parmesan Crusted Shrimp, and Sriracha Shrimp.  I also had Cocounut Shrimp Bites which are not pictured here.  Also available were Hand Breaded Shrimp and Shrimp Linguini Alfredo.

I'm not sure what the difference is between Garlic Shrimp Scampi and Shrimp Linguini Alfredo is.  The Garlic Shrimp is served in Alfredo sauce on Linguini.  Maybe the difference is just garlic.

There was a small dish of what tasted like Thousand Island dressing in the center of plate.  I used it to dip the Parmesan Crusted Shrimp.  The combination tasted pretty good, but no one ever told me what the sauce was or what I was supposed to do with it.

The Coconut Shrimp Bites were maybe the best, although they forgot to bring me the Pina Colado Sauce that was supposed to accompany the Bites.

With Endless Shrimp you get a side salad and another side of your choice.  I picked cole slaw.

The Sriracha Shrimp were accompanied by a wild rice dish.  I love Sriracha Sauce, but somehow the spicy hot sauce didn't seem to work with the shrimp.

I ate half of the wild rice and half of the cole slaw.  I didn't touch the linguini except to pick out the shrimp.  Cheddar Bay Biscuits were served.  I ate one.  They were tasty but not to the standard which I remember from some years ago when I last visited Red Lobster.

Anyway you can pick whichever or all of the Endless Shrimp selections.  I had a total of six servings which sounds like a lot, but the shrimp are nearly microscopic.

I tried to avoid the selections which sounded like they contained a lot of carbohydrates.  I have learned carbohydrates are my worst enemy after Ron Price.  For me carbohydrates are worse than Jeff Sykes.  Carbs make my blood sugar soar.  My blood sugar went up after dinner but not nearly as high as I feared.

We drank water which has become our standard beverage.

The total tab for two people came to about $45 with a 15% tip.

The Endless Shrimp special runs through November 2.

Reidsville man spotted walking in Reidsville

Reidsville Review reporter Jessica Alexander calls it a Marine Corps flag, but it looks like a United States flag to me.
