Will of the People
It happened two weeks ago, but if you hurry, you might still make the Will of the People meeting on April 15

I voted early
I voted early in the primary election on Saturday.
There wasn't much of a wait because there was no one in line ahead of me, but I still had to wait about five minutes while a little man was sent into a back room to get a Libertarian ballot. Apparently Libertarian ballots are kept separate from all other ballots and must be retrieved from a secret Libertarian ballot room. It was explained that because there are only 144 Libertarians in Rockingham County that it is OK to keep their ballots separate.
I got to vote on a candidate for U.S. Senate and a candidate for some sort of judge and whether the county should be liquored up. I will tell you I voted against allowing liquor stores in the county because I figure the government has more than enough grip on everything. I voted to allow the sale of liquor in restaurants or convention centers. Good luck to whoever has the money or is fool enough to open a restaurant or convention center in Rockingham County.
Bubba and Mrs. Tilley were there. but they never tried to sway my vote. Tamara was there sitting in a chair and holding signs right outside the ballot area. She wanted me to vote for Phil Berger and Melanie Bridge. Phil and Melanie weren't on my ballot.

Doggie treats and toothbrushes??
"Terresia Scoble got busted for stealing dog treats and toothbrushes? Are you kidding me? How stupid! People steal televisions out of Walmart every day and they don't get caught. What's up with doggie treats and toothbrushes?" - overheard at a Reidsville movie theater this weekend.

Reidsville's #1 employee resigns
Terresia Scoble, Reidsville's #1 employee, resigned Wednesday over $50.22 worth of Walmart merchandise. Very sad.
It will be nearly impossible to replace her. Maybe Tammy can be persuaded to come back. Maybe Kelly will take the job.
Who knows how this will be resolved?

Offended by Richard Moore...it's nice to reminisce
Click the letter to read it.
Recent events have reminded of an old Reidsville Review letter to the editor from Terresia Scoble. She was terribly disappointed in the Reidsville Christmas parade and in particular with the antics of Richard Moore. The letter appeared in the November 22, 2006 edition of the Review. It's nice to reminisce.
Terresia Scoble receives some sort of award from Reidsville Mayor James Festerman. Apparently Scoble had done something extraordinary for the city.
Be sure to read the Arrested! story while you're here.
Arrested!
This may or may not appear in the local news media because the person arrested was a highly placed Reidsville employee. She has been charged with larceny. I'm guessing some city funds were absconded. The Reidsville Police Department made the collar at City Hall. Shame has descended upon the entire city. It is a sad day in R-Town.
Update: I'm going to have modify my story. It's still a highly placed Reidsville employee and it's still larceny, but it's not city funds and the location of the collar is uncertain. Shame has still descended upon the city and it's still a sad day. What's changed is the victim...the charge is shoplifting at Walmart, which isn't really a crime. Everybody in Reidsville steals from Walmart, which makes it more of a sport rather than a crime.
Update: The Reidsville employee has been placed on paid administrative leave. She will be allowed to continue doing what she has always done - absolutely nothing. Meanwhile a second city employee has come under investigation for taking kickbacks from people hired by the city. This may get interesting.
