Vote now!

Vote now to let the Review and the world know when you take down your Christmas tree.  So far two people don't celebrate Christmas and one takes down his tree right after Christmas.

Reidsville Review needs a few good men

If you work for the Reidsville Review, then you already know about the company and other facts much worse than what's listed below. However, most folks don't work for the Review and they might get a kick out of knowing a little something about the conditions at the Sharknado of Newspapers. BH Media is Berkshire-Hathaway. It is owned by Warren Buffet, the filthy rich billionaire. These BH reviews accompanied an online ad for a new Review sports reporter. I especially like the last review where some guy complains about having to take a $700 per month pay cut when Buffet took over.

Laid back management
Circulation District Supervisor (Current Employee), Omaha, NE – February 9, 2014
I would say that because this is a dying industry that the management just wants to hold on to their current positions without taking the risks necessary to try and improve business conditions and capture more of the market.

Change is coming
Manager (Current Employee), Tulsa, OK – September 29, 2013
Pros: no debt for the company, checks always cash when they finally arrive.
Cons: lack of caring for employees, no perks, poor benefits, paychecks arrived whenever
When Berkshsire Hathaway purchased our companay, the reps held a meeting to reassure us that the company would continue to operate the way it had in the past. They also said, "change is coming" but you wont notice.,

After taking a $700/ month cut in pay, I dont know how they think I wouldnt notice!

People that were reduced in force were not replaced and their duties were passed on to the remaining skeleton crew.

If you want to work harder for less money and no perks, Berkshire Hathaway Media, Inc is your place. There is a reason Warren Buffet makes money - HE DOESNT SPEND IT on making employees happy. – less

Commissioner cops PAREGORIC plea

Commissioner Keith Mabe has decided to cop a PAREGORIC plea.  Mabe claims he crashed his truck after taking four sips of a PAREGORIC elixir that belonged to his deceased aunt.  Mabe says he took the anti-diarrhea medicine to relieve back pain.

Mabe blew a .19 on his breath test, but his back feels better and he doesn't have the squirts.  The legal limit is .08.

I don't suppose there is any need to remind you how horrible PAREGORIC tastes.  You probably remember the foul taste from your youth.  I would take a hell of a man to drink enough PAREGORIC to register a .19.  Four sips wouldn't do it.

Oh, yeah, he also dropped his cellphone and was reaching on the floor for it when the crash occurred.  I tell you this in case you don't believe the PAREGORIC story.

Say it ain't so!

The recent events in Ferguson and New York City have taught us not to trust the police.  That's why I'm sure the ugly rumor about County Commissioner Keith Mabe crashing this truck in Eden and getting charged with DWI is totally false.

He's such a good boy.  This may require some spinning.

A daggum good job!

“When I look at the fund balance, it tells me the county has done a pretty daggum good job,” -  County Commissioner Keef Duncan singing the praises of local government to former Review reporter Danielle Battaglia.

"The commissioners are facing a monetary shortfall next year and previously have said they may raise property taxes." - In a follow-up sentence, Danielle takes a bit of wind out of Commissioner Keef's sails
