Parking lot shooting

Reports are coming in that say a shooting has taken place in a store parking lot.  Incredibly it was not a Walmart parking lot!

A bum education

While we're waiting on the newly transformed www.reidsvillereview.com page to settle down into its new home as the Greensboro news, I came across an interesting story about NC.  It seems NC is home to the top two least valuable college degrees in the United States.

CBS News is reporting Shaw University in Raleigh offers the least valuable degree in the US with "20-year ROI is a stunningly low -$121,000."  Coming in second place is Fayetteville State University with "a 20-year ROI of -$95,700".

In case you graduated from Shaw U., ROI is Return On Investment.

Congratulations to our state for this distinction.

Reidsville Review turns into News and Record

Clicking on a link to the reidsvillereview.com now takes you directly to a Greensboro News web site.  No attempt to hide the fact that you are looking at the news-record.com is made.  The transformation is now complete.

Just WOW!

Word on the street is:

FIVE-FINGER DISCOUNTER TERRESIA SCOBLE HAS BEEN NOMINATED TO SERVE ON THE REIDSVILLE DOWNTOWN CORPORATION BOARD (the RDC)

The RDC decides who lives and breathes in downtown Reidsville.

For whom the bell tolls

Things are definitely changing in the downtown Reidsville area.  Now that Terresia Scoble is gone it's not looking too good.  Here's the reports I am getting:

Gone - Swan Paint
            O'Asian
Natural Blends (it was a GNC type place, this one disappeared before I knew it even existed)

On the brink - Bicycle Bill's Fabulous Place (which means no more downtown bicycle races)

Teetering on the edge - Heffinger & the Fringe

Funny I haven't read anything in the Review about any problems.  I can't imagine downtown Reidsville without a bicycle race.

Holy sh*t!

Holy sh*t!  Hibbett Sports is opening a store in Madison.   Will sell baseballs, footballs, golf balls and maybe tennis balls.  Management expects to hire eight full time employees.  Mayor says town needs economic boost.

Behind bullet proof glass

"Recording Engineer Jayson Martin is mostly seen in the studio behind the bullet proof glass while an artist records on the other side." reads the caption to the Reidsville Review's photo, but there is no further explanation or any mention of "bullet proof glass", leaving the reader to wonder if Jayson Martin has some pretty bad-ass clientele.
